We are passionate about our three-dimensional papercraft creations. We have additions to our collection being sculpted to life in our design studio; increasingly influenced by themes brought to us by our customers and friends. At the same time, people have asked us if we could apply our instincts to creating great value one dimensional cards as well.

There are so many conventionally constructed cards in the marketplace that we wondered if our foray into this arena made any sense. Still, we brainstormed ideas. Whatever we crafted had to be original with striking imagery, artistically engaging, a bit curious or even quirky and thematically either a new take on tradition or something new altogether.  We also liked the idea of at once being rooted in artistic principles and traditions while embracing innovative technologies in a way that is respectful of these traditions.

Many artists have legitimate concerns about the use of AI generated art. We have these same concerns; however, believe that if used properly AI is simply another tool in the kit of the artist. And as a practical matter, AI is here to stay.

All New Leaf Cards:

1) begin with concepts the AI prompts for which are intrinsically original,

2) never seek to extract images in whole or part from existing works unless of course that is its deductive purpose,

3) are completed and refined at the hands of a professional artist. 

The results have evoked a smile, or a turn of the head as do our signature products. Some categories including Fanciful Beasts, Planet M and Voyages Hypnotique are conceptions all our own. Others such as holidays and life events are fresh takes on long-standing themes.

One more insight. Just as the praying mantis is an awesomely interesting creature which reveals itself only when you look more closely, so the leafy sea dragon manifests as a fusion of both fauna and flora. Wild and seductively engaging.
